Sizzle with some Snowflake Wine #gay #holiday story #MMromance #fairytale #MMromance #gayerotic #midweekteaser ...he guided Jamie’s hand to his torso. “I like the way you touch me.”

Read the Midweek Teaser 18+

Nathan parked his car in the wide gravel area alongside the squat apartment building where Jamie lived. His heart pounded as he followed Jamie Snow to the entrance. This seductive man in his expensive suit attracted Nathan more than any guy he’d ever met. He knew he’d resist nothing on offer that night. Thoughts of being naked with this hot guy filled his head. He longed for it. One-night stands weren’t exactly his style, but Nathan was sure this encounter would lead to more, and the need for sex after so long without it, wove a sweet web of temptation around him.

Nathan sighed over the sight of Jamie’s hard backside in his suit pants. He sighed over the broad shoulders and elegant way Jamie moved. He hungrily watched the way soft tendrils of Jamie’s fashionably cut hair caressed his handsome cheek, as if a soft breeze moved with the delectable man, and he longed to run his fingertips through them to take them behind Jamie’s sapphire pierced ear.

“Here we are.” Jamie unlocked a door to the left of the lobby. “Come in, Nathan.”

Nathan’s eyes closed with pleasure for a moment as he registered the tenderness in the way Jamie spoke his name. He passed Jamie in the entrance and stopped to wait for his host.

“Let me take your jacket.” Jamie held out a hand.

Nathan pulled off his jacket.

Jamie opened a door and hung it in the hall closet. When he turned to Nathan, a little frown creased between his gorgeous ice-blue eyes. “Your shirt is still wet. You can’t be comfortable. Let me find you something to wear and I’ll run that through the tumble drier. I bet the inside of your jacket is wet, too, now.”

Nathan grinned at this concern. “I’ll be fine. It’ll dry off quickly in here.” He shrugged away the offer.

Jamie accepted his refusal. “Come down to the kitchen I’ll make coffee and we can talk.” He ran his hand through his hair to take it from his forehead and led the way.

Nathan leaned against the kitchen counter as Jamie made coffee. “This is … nice. Thanks for inviting me.” Small talk was harder than he remembered. A ripple of self-consciousness made him bow his head.

Jamie stepped directly in front of him. “I couldn’t resist. It seemed the only way to see … more of you.”

Nathan raised his head. He gazed into Jamie’s blue eyes, darkened with what could only be desire. “More of me?” His stomach clenched at the ambiguity in Jamie’s tone.

A delicious smile appeared on his host’s face. He moved closer. “Nathan, I already tried to get your shirt off … keep you with me longer is what I meant. You wouldn’t be here if you weren’t attracted to me. I’m so very attracted to you.” He leaned in and softly kissed Nathan.

Nathan knew the kiss was coming. Jamie’s intention was obvious. Deep inside Nathan ached for it, and more. He held Jamie’s waist with gentle hands and returned the kiss. The lingering pressure of Jamie’s lips stirred his cock. Thrills of pleasure roamed through his balls. He snatched another kiss before Jamie drew away. Greedy for contact with Jamie as desires he usually pushed away surfaced, Nathan drifted his hands to Jamie’s hips.

“I wish you’d let me dry your shirt. It’s soaked. Take it off.” Jamie ran fingertips across the wet shoulders of his shirt.

“Okay.” Nathan released Jamie, opened the buttons halfway, and pulled the shirt over his head. He caught the tiny murmur of appreciation Jamie made and smiled. In fact, if you said get naked I would.

Jamie took the shirt from his hand. His fingertips swept over Nathan’s palm.

Nathan’s stomach tightened at the touch and jerked his cock. He caught Jamie by the wrist as his host turned away and pulled him close. He ran his tingling palm around Jamie’s handsome jaw and kissed him.

Jamie sighed softly onto his mouth as they broke the kiss. “I’ll toss this in the drier.”

Nathan let him go and watched as he went through an open door at the back of the kitchen. The sound of a metal door opening and closing meant Jamie must be in the utility room. The familiar rumble of a drier started. Jamie appeared through the door and closed it. He strode to Nathan and took his hand.

“Come with me.”

Hell, yes. Nathan allowed himself to be led along the hall and into Jamie’s bedroom. He followed as Jamie brought him to a closet.

Jamie took a sweater from a hanger and held it up against Nathan’s chest.

Nathan’s breath left him in a soft murmur as Jamie touched his skin. He desperately wanted Jamie’s hands all over him. He gazed into Jamie’s sparkling eyes, took the sweater in one hand, and with the other, he guided Jamie’s hand to his torso. “I like the way you touch me.”

Jamie trailed his fingers over Nathan’s muscles. He held Nathan’s gaze as he swept his palm along Nathan’s skin. “I like what I’m touching. You’re gorgeous.”

Nathan shook his head. “Am I?” He reeled with lust.

Jamie didn’t answer. He kissed Nathan’s neck and ran his hands down Nathan’s body. He leaned away. “I promised coffee.”

Nathan had trouble breathing. His cock rocketed into a hard column. The kisses on his neck sent streaks of delicious feeling flashing along his shoulder. When Jamie turned and walked from the room, he followed blindly, pulling the soft sweater on as he walked.

In the kitchen, his host poured coffee. “We’ll take it to the living room. Cream or sugar?”

Nathan had difficulty speaking. His dick strained at his jeans. “Black … no sugar is good, thanks. I, I don’t mind staying here in the kitchen.” He gazed with longing at Jamie. I want you bad. He couldn’t say it.

Jamie must have read it in his eyes. He left the cups of coffee on the counter. He came to Nathan and pushed him to sit on a chair pulled out from the table. “I need to do this. I’m aching for you.” He opened the fastening and zipper on Nathan’s jeans as he bent and kissed Nathan’s mouth.

N.B. this story contains explicit MM love scenes

From the author:

The story is contemporary gay romance with an edge of fantasy, especially written as a sweet but sexy fairytale-like Christmas treat.

Jamie Snow and Nathan Bloom, my characters, are as usual, dear to me.

Jamie has battled all his life with his strange, fantastic gift. His is the character that brings the element of fantasy to the story. The inspiration behind the creation of this character came, weirdly enough, in the summer, when I visited a ruined abbey. In the grounds were flowering shrubs that I’d never encountered before. From a distance, the flowers looked like frost, and as I drew close, into my mind came the idea of Jamie, a sprite who loves cold, ice, frost, and to comfort himself in the warm weather, he decorated the shrubs with frost flowers.

Nathan Bloom is the perfect partner for Jamie—gorgeous, calm, loving and open. He’s looking for love. He’s onto Jamie’s gifts long before he lets Jamie know it. This is a love story—romantic, steamy, hopeful.

Behind the Title with #gayromance #detectives #gay #mystery Wren and Deverel #LGBTQ Read the passage that gives the story its title

Lucian Wren and Beau Deverel have always been friends. They think they know everything about each other, but they both hide a secret desire. They’re devoted to each other, but they’ve never revealed the depth of their feelings.
When Lucian starts a private investigation service, and Beau joins him in the fledgling agency, little do they know what a delicious, close encounter on their first case will lead to.
This case is bizarre. Is there a hidden reason the client has chosen their newly formed agency for such an important job?
As Beau and Lucian dive headlong into the mystery, their relationship deepens, and their friendship changes forever.

Read the passage that gives the story its title

“Every PI needs a sidekick.” Beau Deverel’s handsome face took on a pleading expression.

“No they don’t. Investigating can involve confidential information, not meant to be shared with just anyone, and if you were my sidekick, it would be.” Lucian Wren sat on the end of the desk and crossed his arms. “I know that look and it won’t change my mind.”

“Come on, Lucian, I can keep secrets. We’ve hung out together forever don’t shut me out of this. I promise I’ll never divulge anything to anybody, except you, naturally. You have my word. Have I ever broken that oath? Well, have I?”

A grin flashed across Lucian’s face. “You have not. I’ll keep you to that promise. Catch.”

Beau grabbed the card that Lucian tossed to him out of the air with a rapid swipe of his hand. He flipped it over to read it.

“Wren and Deverel, Private Investigators—you were teasing, you already included me in the business. Card’s a little plain—could we add something—a picture of a revolver maybe?”

Lucian Wren smiled, affection flooding his eyes for his longtime friend. “No. The embossed border is enough embellishment. We need to appear ultra professional. I’ll be having our phone numbers added later when I have an office number.”

Beau nodded and pushed the business card into the top pocket of his jean jacket.

Lucian gazed at him for a long moment.

“What?” Beau frowned.

Lucian shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “You’ll have to get a license.”

Beau sighed before he asked, “How?”

“You don’t need to do much to qualify, what with your firearms experience, just a few hours working for me as your supervisor and hey presto...”

Beau appeared downcast. “Oh, okay.”

“Is there a problem? We’ll be working together most of the time. The qualifying period isn’t much.”

“I guess having a law degree and that police academy training made it easy for you to get fixed up with the relevant licenses?”

Lucian’s gaze traced the planes of Beau’s face. He lingered soaking up the sight of Beau’s enticing lips, and then looked quickly back into Beau’s attractive green eyes. “Sure, but I did work with that PI in Salem during vacations, remember? Hey, Beau, it’ll be easy for you. A couple of week’s solid work and you’ll be licensed. What are you worried about?”

Beau smiled and leaned close. “Now you ask, since you believe in me, not a thing.”

Lucian’s heart flipped. Sometimes, when Beau was near, Lucian had to drive down an urgent need to kiss him. Lucian couldn’t even imagine what would happen if Beau discovered how he felt. He preferred not to dwell on the possible answers. He moved back from Beau’s proximity. “That’s okay then.” Lucian slipped away, and walked to the window of his study, set up in the second bedroom of his waterfront floating home. He opened the glazed door and stepped out onto the rain-drenched balcony.

Beau followed him and leaned on the white rail to gaze out across the dappled river.

“Where’s the office?”

Lucian broke into a laugh. “Not here. I’m leasing an office in the city. I’ll show you as soon as I get the keys.”

Beau straightened. “Wow, that’s great ... bet that costs a packet. Hey, are we going out to eat? I’m starving.”

Refreshed by the air, and having banished his desperate need to hold Beau close, Lucian answered. “You’ll be surprised at the cost, it’s not too bad, and I wanted to do it right, you know, have clients come to a real office. Let’s get going if you want to eat.” He led the way back into the house and closed the doors that locked with a key on the inside. Lucian turned it and put the key in the top drawer of his desk.

Celebrating the start of #PRIDEMONTH with a #midweek #teaser from
The Romantic

...his elbow caught someone’s arm as the crowd thickened waiting for their ride to the city.

“Sorry.” Ethan turned to the person he’d jolted.

An older man, his face leathery and lined, nodded at him. His silver hair fell over his forehead in a curl.

“That’s okay. It’s cold today, don’t you think?” His pale-blue eyes traced a path over Ethan’s face.

The feeling the old guy was assessing him in some way put a tiny frown on Ethan’s face. He turned away.

The train arrived, and Ethan boarded with the rest of the morning commuters. He glanced around. Surprised to find an empty bench seat, he sat quickly.

The old man he’d bumped took the space beside him. “Lucky, huh? There’re usually no vacant seats.” He put a walking stick with a strange looped snake handle between his knees.

Courtesy made Ethan answer, even though he wanted to bring out his tablet computer and use the time catching up with that day’s real estate ads. “Yes. It’s good.” He opened his bag and pulled out his machine. A year ago, he’d bought a SIM card that fit the tiny slot and gave him access to the internet wherever he was. Ethan kept it topped up with credit. He put the computer on his bag that sat on his knee and opened the browser. He visited a few real estate websites and checked the lists of places available.

“You’re looking for a new apartment?”

The man’s voice interrupted Ethan’s scrolling. He smiled at the old guy. Maybe he’s lonely and just hopes for a little conversation. Ethan had seen it in grocery stores where the clerk conversed with an old person who came into the store regularly, as much for company as supplies.

“I am. It’s time I found a place closer to my work in the city and I need a change.”

“You live alone?”

It was a question, but a statement at the same time, as if the man already knew, and either was checking his information or didn’t want to seem as if he knew.

Ethan hesitated. Could the guy be a front for some crew of burglars? No. He just wants to chat. “I do. I used to have someone in my life. The place seems empty without their visits.” Some of the loss Ethan carried lifted from him at this confession.

“Ah, you split with a lover. That’s hard. Boyfriend?”

A grin spread over Ethan’s face in recognition of the old man’s cool modern-thinking question. Amused and intrigued by this, Ethan nodded. “Boyfriend.”

A strange expression crossed in the old man’s eyes.

Ethan tried to decipher it. Relief…satisfaction?

Then in a flash, it had gone.

“Do you still care for him?” Kindness shone from the observant blue eyes, and the old man suddenly gave a glimpse of how he might have appeared as a young man.

Handsome…caring, enigmatic. Lulled into answering by the strange thoughts, Ethan spoke. “I don’t know. Probably not. I hurt from how he left. I’m lonely.”

The man heaved a breath, and a tiny frown appeared between his eyes.

For a few seconds, Ethan wondered if he’d revealed too much, and then he recognized concern in the man’s expression.

“Yes, so many people are.” The man fished in the inside pocket of his overcoat. He brought out a business card. Impressively, he tumbled it across his knuckles, until he held it out to Ethan. “Victor Mercury. I’m an agent—real estate and such. Here’s my card. As it happens, I’ve recently opened a new office in the city. I’d love to show you some of the properties I’m handling.”

Ethan took the card. Grecian blue with a gold border, like an early morning summer sky, the card glowed a little. He rapidly scanned the information printed there.

The Agent Pty., Victor Mercury, 7 Boardwalk.

A phone number followed. There was no mention of real estate. Ethan glanced up into the ice-blue gaze. His own eyes held a question.

Victor Mercury nodded enthusiastically. His eyes twinkled as if someone had thrown stardust into a beautiful lake. “I like minimalist business cards. Call me as soon as you can. As it happens, I have something I think you’ll love.”

Aiden's about to be mortally wounded, but an angel watches from an apartment balcony. Can he get to Aiden in time to save his life? #gay #paranormalromance #adventure #MMromance #LGBT #ThrowbackThursday #giveaway

Aiden Flint goes on vacation with three friends to Pamplona, Spain. Seeking excitement, they will run with the bulls in the festival of St. Fermin. As the four friends enjoy the nightlife, they notice an attractive man watching Aiden in the bars they visit. In the warmth and heady atmosphere of the exotic city, Aiden takes a chance and approaches the handsome man.

Enigmatic Santiago Arista is sexy, kind, desperate for love, and achingly lonely. He’s just about given up on finding love, until one warm, summer night, sitting alone in a bar, he sees gorgeous Aiden. He’s elated when Aiden joins him at his table.

Deep attraction swirls between them. At the end of the night when they share a kiss, Aiden can’t believe the bliss that enfolds him, but have both men found someone to love just when fate is about to throw Aiden into mortal danger?

Read a Chapter teaser in #throwbackThursday

Darkness characterized Santiago’s earthbound world. He lived in it and with it weighing heavy in his heart. Centuries passed without a break in his solitariness. He no longer used his special gifts. He left weeks between his visits to the markets, until hunger forced him out for fruit and bread. He ventured into the nightlife less and less, convinced he’d never find a companion to ease his loneliness in venues he’d haunted for decades.

Then one night, driven by despair into the bars dotting the Spanish city where he currently dwelt, Santiago laid eyes on a man whose looks set his thoughts and heart racing. Who is he? How can I meet him? Could he ever want to know a sorry soul like me? He is beautiful.

Santiago sat with his vodka melting the crushed ice in the tall glass he favored and always ordered. He gazed at the young man with yearning growing in his heart until he ached. Santiago named him “dear heart” so that he could daydream that they were together, a couple—lovers.

Dear heart sat with his friends, but on that first night he glanced at Santiago a few times, his clear blue eyes searching Santiago’s face. When dear heart visited the restroom, he openly stared at Santiago, and in his gaze, Santiago read interest, sexual attraction—pure need.

Long empty of positive emotions, Santiago’s heart filled with hope. He hardly took his eyes from dear heart. He savored every contour of muscle beneath the young man’s t-shirt, and sighed over dear heart’s thick, dark hair, wishing he could run his fingers through the softness. When his chosen one left the bar with his friends, Santiago followed, to the next bar, and then the next, until dear heart smiled at him as he passed where Santiago set up his watch, holding a chilled glass in his equally cold hand. The smile warmed Santiago as nothing ever had. Amazed, he left it too late to return the smile—dear heart and his friends disappeared onto the night street thronging with vacationers.

Santiago combed the bars each night thereafter until he found where dear heart drank a beer with his friends. Then he would sit and soak up the sight of the beautiful stranger, desperate to talk to him, but afraid of rejection.

****

“That guy’s staring at you again, Aiden.” John jogged his elbow, forcing a wave of golden beer to slap on the side of the slender glass he carried. Drops flew into the air headed for the colorful tiled floor, and Aiden steadied his pace so as not to spill more.

His friend raced ahead to the other two men in their vacation party.

“Wait, you two.”

Aiden stole a glance over his shoulder at the man John had mentioned. Bright eyes captured his gaze. Aiden’s stomach clenched. Mystery, sex, and attraction radiated from the handsome man. Aiden’s mouth dried up. He tore himself away and hurried to the table where his friends sat laughing.

“He’s interested in you for sure. Crap, he’s still staring.” Noel leaned forward giving Aiden a wide-eyed, and yet salacious grin.

Jason put down his beer and punched Aiden lightly on the upper arm. He used his pet name for his friend. “Why not approach him, Aidey? There’s no one in your life. How many times have you bleated about your single status in the last six months? Have a holiday romance.”

Aiden’s shoulders drooped. He was the only single guy in his small group of friends and the only gay guy. He knew Jason was sincere, but Noel and John often made fun of him. Not malicious fun, but a gentle constant teasing that sometimes wearied him. Noel used it to mask his tendency to homophobia. John was the friendship group’s clown. Aiden picked up the beer he’d placed on the table and sipped at it.

In a day’s time, on the seventh of July, the first “running with the bulls” event would take place. The friends had come to participate in the Saint Fermin summer festival in Pamplona, and intended running with the bulls as many times as their nerve let them. Noel had raised the idea one night as they met for a meal and drinks in their favorite bistro. He’d lamented his mundane existence, and somehow the others in the group had commiserated enough for them all to agree to vacation in Spain that coming summer expressly to run with the bulls.

Aiden blinked away his trepidation at actually fulfilling the now imminent intention. He put down his beer, and in an attempt to chase away his fears, he turned and smiled at the gorgeous man whose stare just about penetrated his denim shirt.

Astonishment spread on the man’s face, and then he returned a shy smile.

Aiden took a deep breath, summoning his nerve. He stood, gave his friend Jason a tiny wave, and walked to the man’s table.

First Chapter Friday

from new release

Night Song

Chapter One

Oliver Honeycutt ran along the corridor, his piece of toast gripped between his teeth, reading glasses falling down the bridge of his nose. He’d received a request from the shop floor to find a pair of bronze designer jeans for a prized customer. The call had come just as he’d taken a seat at the lunch table with slices of toast on which he’d intended heaping chocolate spread, but Oliver gladly gave that up to take the stockroom task. He’d stuffed dry toast in his mouth and taken off.

Just the name Zane Highwood gave Oliver a rapid heartbeat. No matter what Zane requested, Oliver would be the first to leap into action. These days the other stockroom assistant didn’t raise his face from his smartphone or put down a coffee cup. Oliver and Eddie had somehow reached an unspoken agreement that Oliver took any job concerning Zane Highwood.

The fashion store sold big name brands of what the owner, Anton, smilingly called rock star garb as well as his own designs. Only six people had face-to-face contact with customers. Specially skilled and drilled in serving the discerning clientele, these six never ventured into the stockroom to find an item. They called Oliver or Eddie on the internal phone. Once the item was located, either assistant placed it in a tiny service elevator and sent it to the sales floor.

Oliver had never spoken to Zane, but he put his heart and soul into fulfilling Zane’s requests. Oliver never attended Zane Highwood’s gigs, held in clubs where he knew he’d feel out of place. He couldn’t let himself become creepy, but a smile would spread on his lips when Zane appeared in the press wearing the clothes he’d provided from the stockroom. Oliver took care not to let his admiration for the dark-haired, slim-hipped singer become an obsession. Even though Oliver was only twenty-five, he’d long ago given up hoping for a man who would love him, especially one as handsome as Zane. Instead, he looked on Zane as beautiful, a dream to hold dear as the kind of man he’d love in his life, but not to hopelessly covet.

Oliver pulled the requested garment from a stack. The bronze jeans would look good with a particular belt, and Oliver added that to the tray in the mini elevator. He pressed the button and it descended.

Eddie glanced over at Oliver from his perch on a stepladder, having taken the subsequent request for a garment from a sales colleague. “Why’d you bother?”

Not understanding, Oliver gave Eddie a puzzled look.

Clearly, his colleague understood the implied question in Oliver’s expression. “With the extra stuff—a belt, a t-shirt, a scarf. I mean, you don’t know if the customer even sees whatever it is. No one downstairs ever comes up and says, hey Ollie, great job.”

Oliver shrugged. “I enjoy doing it. I’d like to dress the windows or the store models—put things together. Maybe even become a personal stylist.”

Eddie pushed the flat box he’d looked in back on the stack, then turned to Oliver. “Yeah, looks as if you have a flare for it. You should ask Anton.”

Oliver sighed. “He’d say no. The artistic team does it.”

Eddie shrugged. “Up to you.”

Darkness had fallen before Oliver left the store that day through the side door onto a covered alleyway squeezed in between two tall buildings. Tuesdays and Sundays were the only evenings the store didn’t open until eight thirty to accommodate the huge variety of clients and entertainment customers. Oliver adjusted his collar to keep out the December wind. He glanced up at the night sky as he met Main Street and lost the shelter of the arched roof afforded by the alley. A flurry of sleet scattered huge dark splashes onto his overcoat. Soggy ice lodged in his hair and wet his face. Oliver licked it from his top lip. Hunching his shoulders, he strode to the station.

As it was Tuesday, Oliver could catch the early express to his small house. He hurried along. The traffic swished on the road that was fast turning slippery under the coating of slush. Streetlights, their poles wound around with bright lights to ward off the winter gloom, threw glitter onto the puddles. Shops lit the sidewalk, their seasonal displays twinkling as he passed.

Oliver dashed through the crowds. A man carrying an enormous cardboard box charged right at Oliver. The man could barely see around the box. Oliver sidestepped the collision with a grin. Somebody will bump into him for sure. His avoidance brought Oliver into the gutter, and a passing cab honked. Oliver rolled his eyes and jumped onto the curb, where he slid along for a few seconds. The cab’s proximity threw slush into Oliver’s shoes and wet his socks, but not much could diminish his happy mood. He smiled as he entered the station and swiped his travel card through the machine at the turnstile. Tonight his brother was Skyping him from across the world.

To say Oliver missed his older brother, Eric, was an understatement. When Eric’s journalist career took him to Indonesia and then Australia, Oliver was bereft. When Eric married an Aussie girl and made Melbourne his home, Oliver grieved for a year. He simultaneously wished them every happiness and wished Eric had never become a journalist. Even after three years, tears welled up in Oliver’s eyes when he recalled their childhood and teenage years spent together.

He tried not to let memories creep into his mind. His loneliness and regret at losing Eric didn’t sit well in his mind. He saw the feelings as inappropriate and maybe indicative of resentment, although Oliver didn’t envy Eric. He loved him. Oliver had never been able to fill the hole that opened up when Eric left his life. Eric was the only person in the whole world who knew Oliver was gay.

Their mom had left her house in a suburban neighborhood where the boys had grown up, for a visit to Eric, his wife, and their new baby a couple of weeks ago. Australia was far away, and the journey took a long time, so she would be staying with them for ten weeks. When Oliver had last visited her, he sent presents for the baby, genuinely enchanted when Eric had displayed his daughter wrapped tight in a blanket the last time he and Oliver Skyped.

He pushed his hands into his overcoat pockets as he strode along the outer city street in the cold night. He unlocked his front door, flipped on the hall lights, and, after levering off his wet shoes and discarding his overcoat, Oliver dashed to his study and booted his laptop. He went to the kitchen and hurriedly made a cup of instant coffee, which he took to his study and placed on his desk. Dinner could wait until he’d talked with Eric.
