Saturday Snippet #preview #teaser from E. D. Parr's upcoming release Dragon Bridge. #gayromance #PNR #MMromance #suspense #fantasy from @evernightpub

Saturday Snippet

Tired from his high stress work fighting cyber-crime, handsome, Key Alder takes a vacation on a beautiful Italian coast. He travels from one gorgeous town to another and after a perilous journey lost in the mountains, he settles into his hotel and relaxes.

In a beachside café, next to a warm pale-blue ocean, a performer hands out fliers for an arts festival in a mountain village. Lured by adventure, Key attends an evening performance of fire juggling acrobats in the legendary village piazza.

Beautiful, enigmatic Claudio Di Fiore, the star of the show, sees Key in the audience and is captured by a wonderful feeling he’s unaccustomed to.

Claudio wants Key.

Key is enchanted by Claudio.

A passionate love grows between the two men.

When Claudio’s mysterious ancient family threaten to tear them apart, will Key risk everything to stay with his loved one?

Read the preview teaser

Key’s fascinated gaze traced each part of the acrobat’s torso. The shine on his skin indicated a moisturizer of some kind and Key allowed himself to imagine smoothing it on, slipping his palms over the acrobats stomach and down the funnel of his hips. His eyes mesmerized, with dark lashes and perhaps kohl liner. Tiny twinkling stars ran over his cheekbones and across the breadth of his chest.

Key sighed as the acrobat soared in a high arc through flaming hoops as if the height and heat meant nothing to him. This man was breathtaking. Key stared and wished he could somehow meet this acrobat. The others in the troupe receded into the background for Key. When beautiful Claudio smiled at him, for a few seconds Key couldn’t breathe and then, elated, he returned the smile.

As the performance ended, Key’s spirits fell. Maybe he smiles at any audience member. It’s part of being a performer. It meant nothing. Even so, he kept that smile in his heart. Key raked the crowd with an anxious gaze for the beautiful acrobat desperate for one last sight of him. Then the man was before him—older than Key had thought—more beautiful and talking to him—touching him. This proximity affected him so much Key had to force the words from his mouth to tell the acrobat that he couldn’t speak Italian.

Behind the Title Thursday blog post and this week, it’s from, Like a Thief in the Night. #gayromance #MMromance #LGBT #artist

Behind the Title Thursday blog post series and this week, it’s from, Like a Thief in the Night.

“…you’ve shown me nothing but kindness. Thank you. I feel incredibly lucky to have met you. It hurt like hell thinking I might have to let you go. See, I couldn’t have you associated with anything illegal. I thought I had to do what Collins asked, but I just … couldn’t…”

“You didn’t. I’m glad because it would break my heart to lose you from my life now…”

Jon stood and brought his chair closer to Saxon’s. He sat and took Saxon’s hands in his. His eyes glistened with unshed tears. “What’s a gorgeous, successful, loving guy like you doing with someone like me?”

Saxon shook his head. Concerned, he pulled one of his hands from Jon’s grasp and slipped it around his face. “What?”

“I love you, Saxon. I want you to know it’s real and not because of your kindness. I always thought when I met a man and fell in love with him, I’d be … well … I’d have made a success of my art, the little saleroom would be buzzing, I’d have something to offer … but I met you having trespassed on your home like a thief in the night.”

Joy flooded Saxon when Jon declared his love and then listening to Jon worry about not having anything to offer, his heart ached for his lover. “You’re not, though, are you? Not a thief in the night—you never took anything. Jon, I love you. You’re exactly right for me. I only have to touch you and I’m mush. I look at you and love you. You will have a saleroom that’s buzzing one day.” He placed a gentle kiss on Jon’s lips.

Jon let go of Saxon’s hand and wrapped his arms around his waist. He kissed Saxon between smiles and soft whispers.

When head of royal security, powerful warlock, Indigo Vaughn discovers Dreft’s secret, he anticipates trouble.
As beautiful Dreft falls in love with Tobias and dreams of joining the elite pilot squad, trouble is brewing from someone in Dreft’s past.
Will love finally win with so many obstacles in Tobias and Dreft’s path?

Read the teaser 18+

Tobias stomped through the palace grounds. He pushed away his sexual needs as he walked around the rose garden three times and then he gave in. He exited the compound by the south gate and hailed a hire skeeter as it cruised by at the height of the castle walls.

The pilot dropped him on the sidewalk outside Temptations with a grin.
“Have a good night, sir.” He handed back Tobias’s currency-card having scanned it and taken the required fare.

Tobias nodded and slipped the card into his jacket pocket. “Thanks.” He strode into Temptations before he found an excuse not to. One of the hosts approached him.

“Good evening, Tobias Mars. It’s been some time since your last visit. What can I do for you?”

Temptations ranged over three floors and spread far along the riverbank. A pastel-colored building, elegant and turreted, it housed a nightclub for dancing, bars, a restaurant, and private rooms where customers could indulge in glorious sex with whoever they chose, man, men, woman or women. Renowned for excellent customer service, discretion, cleanliness, and fun, there wasn’t a more high-class establishment in this part of the galaxy than Temptations.

Tobias forced a smile onto his face. Even if this host remembered him, he had no idea who the man was. “Good evening. Yes. I’ve been busy. I’d like a companion, or two, for the night. Male, pretty—”

The host’s expression held nothing but acceptance. “Duet is available. I’ll show you to a room.”

Tobias followed the host up the wide, curved staircase that led to the rooms. Strains of music followed him as the double doors to the dance club opened and closed when customers left.

Inside an opulent room, the host poured fruit wine from a chilled carafe and handed it to Tobias. “Have a relaxing night, sir. Duet will be along right away.” He left Tobias standing in the middle of the room.

A summer night breeze lifted the hems of the sheer drapes from the tall windows in small undulations. The many soft lights scattered around the room sent a comforting glow over a huge, low bed adorned with a white sheet. By the bed stood a table holding the cold wine, decorated boxes that Tobias knew from past experience held satin soft paper tissues, condoms, sex toys, lube in colored gel packs and herbal concoctions designed to prolong pleasure.
He placed the wine glass on the table.

A whisper of air as the door opened and closed alerted him to Duet’s arrival. He spun around, suddenly self-conscious and worried because he hadn’t been with a man for so long and now here were two.

The men wore nothing but wonderful colored face paint. Their jet-black hair fell down their backs in thick braids, their eyes, made even more blue by the blue color on their eyelids, sparkled like a tropical sky blue ocean.

Tobias gazed on their beauty and savored their hard-muscled bodies. He followed the V of their hips and his breath caught as his eyes traced their huge erections, the tips of their cocks bobbing against flat stomachs as they came to him.

Tobias closed his eyes as one of them slipped cool strong hands around his face and kissed him. The kiss woke his cock and he sighed as the other man opened his pants and pulled them down his thighs freeing his aching, rock-hard dick. He pulled back from the kiss. “I won’t last long the first time,” he murmured his concern.

From the author
The story is set in the same SciFi fantasy city as last year’s release, The Dreamboat.
Indigo Vaughn, the warlock head of security, features in the story along with a new cast of characters. When I wrote The Dreamboat, I already had the new characters in my head along with their story. Tobias Mars and Dante Pepper, the elite space pilots for the royal court, very nearly made an appearance in The Dreamboat, but because that story is about Indigo at last finding love, I decided they needed their own story.
Once upon a time Dante and Tobias were close to becoming lovers, but Dante met Viridian and fell in love. Tobias has yet to meet his love when String of Pearls, opens. He’s a man of high integrity, handsome, caring, but also longing for love and sex. String of Pearls is his love story.

Excerpt

The bars along the canal were busy for a Sunday evening. People sat at the outside tables, laughing and drinking. From the corner of his eye, he clocked that someone had recognized him and was moving in his direction. Harry tucked his chin and kept walking. He wanted to reach his room, lock the door and spend some quality time alone.
When a hand touched his shoulder, he expected it to be a fan, eager for a photograph. He turned, hoping to make it quick, and was surprised to recognize the smiling face that greeted him.
Grant Hunter.
My God, he’s handsome. Up close, his chiseled features and warm brown eyes were exquisite. His smile grew wider and his eyes sparkled with amusement.
“I thought it was you,” Grant said, thrusting a hand forward. “Nice to meet you at last.”
“You too,” Harry said, accepting the firm handshake.
“I wanted to say hello last night, but you left the club before I got the chance.”
“Sorry.” Harry shrugged, unable to tear his eyes from Grant’s hypnotic gaze. Dark and moody, like a film star from a different era, a 1950s matinee idol who’d stepped straight off the screen and been transported to modern-day Manchester.
You could cut yourself on his cheekbones, they’re so sharp. And that jawline…
“It wasn’t really your scene, was it?” Grant asked.
“I guess not. But sorry, again, I should have come over before I left. It was rude not to.”
“Why don’t you make it up to me now?” Grant said, gesturing to the bar where they had stopped. “A drink. I’ve got nothing else to do right now. How about you?”
The man was a natural flirt. That was obvious. But he had an undefinable and powerful charisma. Harry’s heart beat faster. Grant had an instant effect on him. “Why not?”

New release #MMromance #suspense from @KatherineWyvern @evernightpub Fantasy, pirates and adventure. Read a #teaser

Hello and thank you for hosting me and my pirate story today! This was such a wonderful book for me to write! It came about by chance when I was drawing an elf, messed up his left eye, and ended up with a one-eyed pirate instead.
I have been afloat on imaginary seas with many favorite authors of mine from Melville, to Conrad, to Patrick O’Brian and Björn Larsson all of my life, so I pounced on the chance of writing a pirate story!
The original idea, as much as I had an idea at all, was to keep it light and fun (and short… most of all short). I wrote a bunch of dialogues very much at random in the first day, all of them full of banter, innuendoes and bratty jokes and I thought that I would keep the story on that note. But I didn’t have a plot, and I still missed one of the main characters, and I had only the vaguest idea of what universe the story could be set in. For a brief while I even considered making it a bit of tongue-in-cheek Tolkien fan fiction. But then the muse spoke, and suggested such a dark twist to the main character, Rikko’, that it became clear that the story needed to grow and to have deeper layers.
And it began to fit very well into the fantasy universe where my older novel Spellbreakers was set, and to connect rather neatly with that story, although it’s not really a sequel to it, and it can be read as a standalone. I hope you find my pirate as irresistible as I did!

Blurb:

Born in the northern wastes of Kaleva in the middle of a devastating war between light and darkness, Rikko’ has found his way south to the warm shores of the Circled Sea, the first elver to ever turn pirate.

Forbidden by the rules of the Andalouan court to pursue such an ungentlemanly career, Gael can only dream of ever becoming a doctor, and his medical studies remain unfinished until his aunt the Queen sends him on a covert mission to the pirate city of Beyas’kahl.

And here, after one night with Rikko’, all his loyalties are put to the test.

Queen Amata has reigned for three decades, and she always used her men cunningly. But even the best player can miscalculate, and her blunder places Gael first in slavery, then in a naval battle, and finally, worst of all, face to face with Rikko’s darkest and deadliest side.

From such darkness, is there any coming back? Is there any hope of love for Gael, or redemption for Rikko’?

(MM sex)

Excerpt:

“Come, Puna, sweetie,” he said, plucking the lemur off Gael’s shoulder with one hand. He placed her on his chest of drawers, on a pile of freshly laundered clothes, her favorite bedding in the world, after himself. She grumbled a little but soon settled down. “And as for you, my boy, you come here to me,” he whispered, drawing Gael to the edge of his bed, where they both tumbled down together, kissing.
Gael was still frantically pecking at him, with those tight-lipped clueless kisses that drove Rikko’ to distraction. He let himself be kissed like that for some minutes—it was so ridiculously lovable.
Ah, it is a pity to teach him anything, he thought. I wish I could keep him like this forever. He knows nothing, except that he has this need…
But you can’t have your cake and eat it, I suppose.
“Wait, sweet, wait,” he whispered finally, and laid Gael on his back, pinning his body down with his folded leg as he lay beside him, and took his cheek in his palm. He put his mouth to Gael’s mouth, and gently, slowly, savoring every minute instant of it, he ran the tip of his tongue along the seam of those tightly closed lips, lightly at first, then harder, until the lips finally parted, like two halves of a plum, and Gael gasped in surprise and then lust. His body arched in desire when Rikko’s tongue met his, and he groaned with hunger, welcoming the new intimacy of that tongue-to-tongue kiss with an adoring fierceness that had Rikko’ near to tears with emotion. He groaned again, hugging Rikko’ closer, sinking his fingers in his hair, touching his face and neck and ears, pursuing his mouth when Rikko’ pulled back to breathe, licking Rikko’s lips.
Rikko’ had never met any grown man (Gael was young, sure, but not a child—Rikko’ despised child lovers, and never, ever went close to the little creatures himself) both so inexperienced, so shy, and yet so wholeheartedly passionate. It was enchanting, and utterly enflaming. He laughed softly and pulled back from the kisses. This was just too much. He could not wait any longer. He needed to touch this boy properly all over; he had to have his cock in his mouth, and maybe, if Gael was so inclined, inside that beautiful, taut little butt.
“Too many clothes,” he said, in Gael’s ear. He kicked off his flip-flops, and realized, with a bit of a shock, that he was still wearing his dagger, stuck in his sash, and his sword belt. He had forgotten all about them. He crossed the room to lay both weapons on his chest of drawers and untied his sash, and felt Gael’s hands on his hips.
“C—can I? Sir? Please?” whispered the boy, and Rikko’ smiled as Gael, with almost religious awe, unwound the length of silk from around his waist and hips and let it fall to the floor around his feet.
Rikko’ stepped out of the puddled folds and murmured, “You too.”
He finished undressing in a few seconds. He never wore a lot. It just got in the way.
Gael took off his clothes, and Rikko’ watched him from the bed, waiting. Under those strangely unattractive breeches and shirt, he was every bit as delicious as Rikko’ had always known he would be, not particularly muscular, but sleek and quick, and just a little awkward, like a young animal, full-grown but still uncertain of his body.
Rikko’ pulled him close, pressing that lithe soft form against his own, and their cocks met halfway, both hard and quite ready, so that they had to be pulled up against their bellies for them to embrace. Rikko’ smiled and palmed Gael’s butt, and kissed him, deep and long, and then put a hand between them and took the boy’s member in his fingers just for a bit of a feel, a bit of foreplay.
He tugged at the lovely taut cock once.
Gael gave a sort of astonished yelp, tensed all over, and then moaned wildly against Rikko’s shoulder, oh, oh, ooh, and suddenly Rikko’ found himself awash in hot, splashing, dripping jets of sperm, all down his belly, lap, and leg, a veritable, goddamn, bleeding flood of it.
He let go, dumbfounded, and then burst into laughter.
“Wh—well, I’ll be … what the…” he began, but, really, he could only laugh. I just barely touched him!
“Damn it, doctor, our ship sprung a leak,” he said finally, still laughing. “I’m drowned!”
“Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods,” said Gael, absolutely frantic, “oh gods, sir, I am so sorry!” He jumped out of bed, fumbling around. “I’ll find my handkerchief, sir, I’ll mop it up this minute…”
Rikko’ laughed even harder and stretched out to pull him back in bed.
“Stop that. Leave it. Leave it, damn it! It’s all right. I’m joking. It’s all right! It’s all good! Stuff’s good for the skin, it is known. Leave it.” He couldn’t stop laughing.

BIO:
I have entered that age when looking at beautiful male models in their prime makes me a cougar, ahem.
Almost all my heroes and heroines are short: that’s because I look at the world from hobbit level. Being so small I am three times more concentrated (read: obsessive) than anybody I know. I am exhaustingly creative in writing, arts, crafts... Sometimes my brain gets friction burns from hurtling at such speed from one universe to the next.
I love animals, plants, and occasionally even people.
Like the Highlander, I come from a lot of different places. I was born in Italy but lived here and there and consider myself simply and deeply European. I love Europe passionately, its antiquity, its diversity, its quirkiness. All my books are set in Europe, or alternate versions of it.
I have been writing since I can remember.

BLURB:
Zakhar 'Zak' Stone walked away from the life he once knew because staying had been too painful when the man he loved didn't love him back. Now he is an undercover agent and has been assigned to take down the one man he left behind.

Alexei Smirnov knows why Zak is back. The authorities have wanted to snare him for years. Now they’ve sent the one man he can’t resist. The man he should’ve claimed long ago. The same man who is back to betray him.
He’s going to give Zak a simple choice—live or die.

Author's Note: Live or Die is set in the Worlds End series universe.

EXCERPT:
Alexei settled back into his chair, hand still on the gun which now lay on the desk, his expression unreadable. “Start talking.”
Now that his undivided attention focused on me, my throat dried out, and my hands shook as the adrenaline ebbed in my veins. I needed a drink or two, perhaps something stronger to take the edge off.
When I’d agreed to this assignment, I hadn’t realized it would be so difficult to sit before him and do what I’ve done often for the past ten years—tell a series of made up stories to maintain my cover. Tell lies to Alexei.
My gaze bounced around the room while I worked saliva into a parched mouth and rubbed my hand over a perspiring neck.
Like a hawk, he watched every move I made, his eyes the color of an obsidian night. As if he could see through to my anxiety, see through to the man I hid from the world.
Then again, a little nervousness wasn’t a bad thing considering what I was about to tell him.
“Someone is trying to kill me,” I blurted out, wanting to get this done, no matter the outcome.
“Ha.” He barked a short, ugly laugh. “Whoever it is will have to wait their turn. If anyone is going to kill you, it will be me.”
My mouth dropped open, and I gaped at him. “You want to kill me?”
“I’m thinking about it.” He didn’t even blink.
This was no joke. I stared at him as if he’d grown two heads. He might as well have been an alien for all I knew about him. Ten years had changed him into a bitter man.
I had loved him once.
And he wanted to kill me.
Talk about bad romance.
“What did you think would happen when you came back here?” he gritted out. “You’re a government agent, for fuck sake.”
Shit. Blood drained from my head. I blinked rapidly as all my muscles tightened.
No wonder he was so bloody pissed off. I would’ve reacted the same way if I’d been in his shoes. Government agents and cartel bosses didn’t make great bedfellows.
How the fuck did he find out about my job?
