Teaser Tuesday with Blond

What would you think if the guy you were dating raced off every night before midnight and would never say why? Would you succumb to the urge to follow him one night?

Liam Hale can’t believe his luck when he meets the man of his dreams, Karl Oberon.

Hunky Karl is the sexiest man Liam has ever met, but his mysterious disappearances start to tease.

Gorgeous Liam is the only man Karl has ever loved.

Together they spark and sizzle with passion, but Karl doesn’t know how to tell Liam why he races away. Maybe keeping Liam’s mind off the question with mind-blowing erotic encounters will work.

Read the #teaserTuesday excerpt

Liam looked forward to meeting Karl for dinner all day. He sang in the shower. He arrived at the restaurant ten minutes early. He requested a table near the window. Sitting there with a glass of iced water and nibbling on a breadstick, Liam couldn’t contain his happiness. A smile hovered all the time as he gazed out of the tinted window waiting for Karl. He waited until ten and then admitted to himself that Karl wasn’t coming. He ordered a pasta dish that looked comforting on the menu, but when it arrived he could only eat a few forkfuls. Liam paid and left the restaurant.

He stood on the sidewalk for a few moments alternatively thinking he’d walk to the bar and check if Karl was in there, then deciding against it. Liam’s shoulders slumped as he turned to go home. He felt so hurt by Karl’s lack of appearance that a place in his chest where he estimated his heart was, ached. Liam couldn’t remember when a guy not showing for a date had upset him like this.

As he tried to sleep that night, Liam turned over the reasons why Karl would stand him up. He finally fell asleep around three.

Liam worked late Friday and all weekend. He couldn’t face going to the bar, and so, late Sunday night, he opened a beer and flipped channels on the TV until an older action movie caught his attention. The hero was a total babe. His thoughts wandered to Karl and he pushed them away. Do not torture yourself.

Monday midmorning, feeling washed out, Liam picked up his tablet computer and wandered to Evan’s office to meet with his business partner and the potential client who owned the new indoor climbing facility.

Evan sent for coffee as Liam took a seat at the meeting table. The client hadn’t arrived.

“Do you want to take the notes this time?”

Liam poured cups of coffee. “Sure.” He pushed a cup toward Evan.

The door opened. Their assistant brought in the businessman they awaited. “Mr. Oberon for you, Evan, Liam.”

Evan already stood by the meeting table. He turned to greet their visitor.

Liam stood to shake hands, too. He raised his eyes from the tablet computer where he’d opened his notes application and saw Mr. Oberon. His stomach contracted with a strange deep emotional response as he recognized Karl.

Behind the Title Thursday with, Blond, from E. D. Parr

an Evernight Publishing editor's pick

I have to confess that the idea for this story came from watching a TV show. I can’t name it for obvious reasons, but the show had a couple of seasons and one of the leading men actors in the story was tall, dark, and handsome. It seemed to me that he attracted all the media and fan attention, but there acting alongside him was a blond guy, equally beautiful in a different way and as I watched him, the idea for my story gelled in my mind.

One of the heroes in my story deviates from being attracted to his normal ‘type’ (tall, dark and handsome) after seeing a gorgeous blond guy in a bar and so for me, the title for my story had to be, Blond.

Read the excerpt

Liam drank the last of his bourbon and placed the glass on the bar. He gestured at Milo who danced to the dulcet and much loved voice of George Michael that drifted through the speakers situated above the bar counter. The bar always played CD music if there was no guest band. Liam liked that. The bar held a cool and yet welcoming ambiance. It was the only bar he knew for sure where none of his business friends would show up and that made it his favorite haunt.

Milo spun toward him.

“I’ll settle up, Milo—better make tracks home.” Liam paid for his drink. He waved the change from his ten-dollar note away, leaving it as a tip, and turned to go. A burst of interest spiked through him as his gaze alighted on a man entering the wide arched doorway. Liam wasn’t usually into blonds, but this one captured his attention. His heartbeat increased as the man approached the bar. Liam couldn’t recall ever having a nervous reaction to a guy he’d never met, nor spoken to before, and he equated the rapid beat of his heart with the way his body betrayed him every time he made a presentation at work.

Frozen in his intent to exit the bar, Liam stood alongside the square of dance floor and a half-naked guy twirled in front of him gyrating and thrusting his hips with a smile.

“Hi, Liam.”

Liam flicked his gaze from the washboard torso of the dancer to his face.

He frowned as he greeted the guy. “Hey, how’re you doin’?” Liam had no idea who this was, but since the man knew his name, he felt obliged to smile as he sidestepped and headed for the safety of the tables and chairs set up away from the dance floor.

Liam found an empty table, but didn’t take a seat. He grabbed the back of the chrome and faux leather chair and gazed at the blond who now chatted with Milo as he took a distinctive green lager bottle from the bartender’s hand.

Liam drank in the sight of the tall man’s rear view. He wore denim jeans, and a rip high on the back of his thigh revealed lightly tanned skin. His shirt fell only halfway down his hips and Liam heaved a sigh as he detected a hard muscled ass beneath the blue fabric of the gorgeous guy’s pants.

Liam looked away for only a moment. When he raised his eyes again the man had turned and now gazed right at him. A strange wave of shyness flew over Liam. He couldn’t tear his eyes from the dark gaze aimed at him, and yet fear prickled down his spine. He traced the planes of the handsome man’s face with worry creasing between his eyes, and then in a rapid move he released his grip on the chair, and strode from the bar onto the sidewalk.

The mid-summer air had cooled with nightfall. Liam gulped it in as he opened an extra button on his shirt. He pulled at the collar as his heart raced. Fuck me. He’s hot as hell. But what’s wrong with me, shaking like a newbie? I’m not even into blond guys. Liam took off, striding along the sidewalk until he saw a cab. He balanced on the curb and hailed it with an outstretched arm.

As he relaxed onto the bench seat in the back of the car he heaved a sigh of relief.

The driver glanced at him via the rear view mirror. “You okay, buddy? I don’t want a cleaning job to do.”

Liam caught the driver’s reflected eyes. He responded to the query. “Yeah, sure. Thanks. I, er, I … I’m good,” he stammered, thinking maybe he should shut the hell up. What was he going to say? ‘Don’t worry I’m not about to throw up?’

By the time he alighted from the cab outside his town house, Liam had pushed the incident to the back of his mind, and started mentally rehearsing the presentation he was to do the next morning for the newest client of Storm Advertising Agency. He raced up the stoop and unlocked his front door. The ground floor rooms lit up in response to his swipe on the row of switches mounted alongside the group of decorative coat hooks in the hall. He took a deep breath and went to his study. He left his laptop booting and made a pot of coffee. Okay, everything is ready. I just have to run through the process a few times. Liam knew from experience this was the only way he’d be comfortable.

His business partner, Evan, could stand up in front of a board table ringed with expectant client faces and improvise. Despite constant reassurance and success, Liam had to force himself. He loved creating but showing off his campaign ideas freaked him out. It reminded him of high school.

He poured coffee, brought the cup to his desk and settled to rote learn his lines.

If I do okay tomorrow, I’ll go out to the bar again. Maybe the blond hunk will be there. Just the thought made his heart pound and he gulped down some coffee. The too hot liquid shocked him into working.

Chapter One
Frozen in terror, Serge Oberon stared at the huge leopard that lay on the polished floorboards of the living room. The ceiling fans swished around. The first glimmer of dawn seeped through the gaps between the thin slats of the bamboo blinds unfurled on the outside of the villa’s shallow windows. A shirt lay discarded over one of the rattan chairs—a pair of white jeans crumpled at the foot of the couch. Wide-eyed and dry-mouthed, Serge took in the scene as if it wasn’t real, as if he’d stumbled onto the set of a movie. The big cat stirred, stretched a paw, but remained asleep.

His first coherent thoughts were for his son, Karl, who was visiting on his vacation. Please don’t let anything have happened to Karl. His heart thumping in his chest, Serge retreated from the horrifying sight and crept silently to the back rooms.

Karl had a bedroom in the area of the building shaded by the huge old banyan tree in the extensive grounds of the villa. Serge tiptoed toward the open door. He stopped in the entrance and gazed at his twenty-four year old son. Oh no—I should have warned him. A cold shiver of fear ran down his body and pooled in his stomach as he saw the love bites on his son’s neck, one of which looked more like a nip from an animal than a token of sexual enjoyment from a human.
Serge went to his son with nausea building. “Karl, son, Karl, wake up.” He bent to inspect the bite he knew in his heart meant Karl would never be normal again. The teeth marks were human, the break in Karl’s skin minimal, but all the same the saliva would have entered his bloodstream. A slight ooze of blood showed at the corner of the wound where Karl must have lain on his side as he slept.

He opened his eyes and stretched as his father drew away. “Hi, Dad, what’s going on?” He yawned and shifted his muscled shoulders, bringing a hand up to the base of his neck where he touched the bite gingerly.

Frown lines furrowed Serge’s forehead. His eyes filled with tears. His voice a whisper now, he sat heavily on the side of the bed. “You brought a man home.”
Karl shuffled to sit up. He smiled at his dad. “Yeah, but what’s up? I’ve brought a guy home before.”

Serge took a deep breath. “Not here—not in Mumbai—at home in the States.”

Concern flared in Karl’s eyes. “What’s this about, Dad? I’m always safe.”

“Come to the kitchen. We’ll have coffee. I’ll tell you everything.” He gazed at his son who reminded him so vividly of his beautiful dead wife, green eyes, dark blond hair, streaked with almond brown.

A voice from behind sent spikes of surprise and anxiety over him.

Serge rounded on the man who lounged against the doorframe. He saw immediately why his son had brought the tall, slender, and dark-eyed young man home. Well-cut tawny hair spiked up and framed a handsome face. Muscles moved under the white linen shirt the man wore. He was ‘hot stuff’ as his son would say. “You bit my son.” He spat the accusation.

Karl caught his father’s arm. “Dad.” His voice held a question as well as surprise at his father’s ferocity.

“I forgot myself. It was accidental. Forgive me, Karl?”

Karl stood and went to the young man whose expression had filled with contrition and affection. “For what, Dash? What’s going on?”

Serge followed his naked son to stand in front of the shifter. “Get out of my home.”

Karl spun around to confront his father. “What the hell…”

Dashiell Chandra silently walked away along the wide hall and exited the house. He cast a mournful glance at Karl then closed the door behind him.

Serge sagged against the bedroom doorframe. “I’m sorry. You need answers. Put something on. I’ll make coffee.” He walked to the living room and, just in case he’d been mistaken, he checked the animal had gone. The shirt and jeans were gone. Dash had been wearing them.

The water for instant coffee had boiled by the time Karl joined him.
Karl’s bright hair was damp and smoothed back from his face. He wore a pair of loose, low-rise jeans and a questioning expression. He checked the fridge and brought out a carton of orange juice. Without a word he took a glistening glass from the dishwasher, and poured the juice. He drank it before he held up the carton, offering his dad some.

“No thanks. Sit down. I need to explain.”

Karl took a seat at the big kitchen table and ran his hand through his hair.

“They’re just love bites, Dad. One’s a bit sore, but it’s just a scratch.”

“There’s no easy way to say this. Please listen to the whole story before you react. It’s going to seem as if I’ve lost my mind.”
His dad placed coffee in front of him. Karl turned the cup around in the saucer.
“Your mother was a shifter, a leopard, and that’s what Dash is.”

Karl let out a snort. “Dad…”

Serge shook his head and held up his hand. “Please listen.”

His son sighed and slumped in the chair with a resigned expression, as if prepared to listen but not believe a word.

“Here in this city and surrounds lives the largest concentration of leopards in the world. Some of them are shifters. They roam with the ordinary animals at night. The shifters only become leopards at night, usually midnight and then with the rising sun, they regain their human body. They’re an ancient species. I know it’s unbelievable.” He gazed at Karl, desperate for his son to believe him. “That’s how your mom died. The truth is she was shot by a hunter as she ran with a raiding prowl of leopards one night.” His voice fell to a whisper, as he revealed what he’d never told his son before.

Karl slowly picked up his cup and drank some coffee. He sighed heavily. “It’s an urban legend, Dad. Mom was killed in a road accident. You need to let go now. It’s been years.”

Serge leaned forward. “Dash broke your skin. You’ll turn tonight. It’s manageable. If your mom hadn’t been a shifter you might have gotten away with it. It’s in your genes, son. I’m so sorry. I should have warned you, but I never expected … where were you at midnight?” He frowned, wondering at the timeline of his son’s encounter with Dash.

Karl stared at his dad and shook his head as he spoke. “This whole thing is ridiculous. I’m worried about you, Dad. I met Dash last week. We had a drink together. Yesterday evening I met him again in the city. You know how it is. We both knew sex was what we wanted. We got home about eight, talked, had a beer, kissed, it got heated—we had sex. I fell asleep and he was with me in bed. Next thing I knew you were there at dawn waking me up.”

“I found him, Karl. I found him as a leopard asleep in the living room.” Serge saw Karl’s expression become a mix of affection and worry.

“Dad.” He sighed the word.

Serge stood and went around the table to his son. He took a seat next to Karl, put his hand on his son’s arm, and looked into his eyes. “Your mom told me this. You’ll retain your human thoughts when you turn. You’ll know not to attack people, but the call of the animal will make you long for time with others of your kind. I’ll be there for you, but you need to stay home tonight.”

Karl burst out laughing. “Stop it. This is stupid. I’m taking a shower and then I need to get a little work done.”

Serge held back tears. A lump of sorrow formed in his throat, but he pushed it away. “I don’t want you seeing Dash again.” Horror that his son’s lover might introduce Karl to running with a group and so come to further harm gave his voice a commanding tone.

Karl turned to his dad and hugged him. “So that’s what this is about. You know I love you, but sometimes, Dad, you forget I’m no longer fifteen. I don’t have any romantic feelings for Dash. He’s hot, but that’s it. If I run into him around town I might have to apologize for you throwing him out of the house.” He stood and smiled at his dad before he padded off to his bathroom.

Serge watched him go, and then bowed his head, as finally tears streamed down his face.

Has Liam finally had enough of Karl's disappearances? #MMromance #midweekteaser #gayromance #PNR

This week has Liam finally had enough?

Blond

The day things changed a cool autumn wind heralded it.
Karl met Liam for lunch in the little café close to Liam’s office building. He kissed Liam before he sat at the table. “Hi, babe.”

The stilted conversation stalled. Liam pushed his salad around in the side dish. He only ate half of his burger. He twisted his napkin into a pretzel shape.
Cold fingers of dread crept up Karl’s stomach. “What is it, Liam?” He lost the fight to keep quiet and wait for whatever was going to happen.

Liam ran a hand through his dark hair and it spiked on end at the front. He sighed and his eyes filled with emotion. There was a plea in his tone. “There’s a launch party Friday night. I want you to come with me. It’ll mean staying late. Maybe until one AM—please say you will. It would mean so much to me. I’ve told Evan about you. I want you by my side. It’s time I stopped hiding what I am…”

Karl winced at the last words. They resonated with his own plight. He stared at Liam. His heart filled with tenderness and sorrow. “Babe, I can’t stay. You know that.”

Liam let his fork drop onto his side plate with a clatter. He leaned away from the table.
“I thought maybe just this once—Is it a sick relative you go to help? Couldn’t you employ a nurse? Surely you can be late to whatever it is you run off to, or whoever it is, just for once? Karl, please. How can we ever have a long term relationship if we never spend the night together?”

Tears gathered behind Karl’s eyes. This was it. Liam had grown tired.
“I’m sorry.” He couldn’t say any more without crying.

Liam gazed at him. “So am I. Let’s call it a day, then, Karl.” He stood abruptly, his chair legs squeaking on the tiled café floor, and stalked off.

Karl sat for a time staring at Liam’s empty chair and then at the salad pushed to the edge of the Liam’s plate. Tears welled and slid silently down his face. They splashed onto the Italian fabric of his pants, making spiky dark spots on the pale gray. Finally, Karl asked the server for the bill, paid, and left to go back to work.

Karl’s gaze ranged over him, and then, after spending long seconds settled on Liam’s cock, now like a thick iron rod in his pants, returned to his face. “I saw you leave and wished you hadn’t. I can’t pretend I’m not dying to suck that hard-on pushing against your jeans, but I love this song. Dance with me.”
Liam hadn’t even registered the song streaming from the speakers. He listened and smiled. It was a great song, but Liam couldn’t dance. “I don’t dance…” He saw the disappointment cloud Karl’s eyes and with a surge of desire to please the man, he added, “But if you’ll forgive my two left feet I will … for you…”
Karl took his hand.
A massive jolt of sensation flew up his arm and he followed Karl onto the dance floor in a daze.
Karl pulled him close.

Sweet Teaser Tuesday
The blond gave him a look full of emotion.

Liam read inquiry there—desire, and something else—longing. He passed by his blue-eyed acquaintance.

Karl spun around and walked out of the bar.

Liam hurried to catch him. He ran down the short flight of steps to the sidewalk.
Karl stepped in front of him. “I hoped you’d arrive earlier. I waited so long I have to go now.”
A frown sprang across Liam’s forehead, taking away the smile that was about to blossom.

“What? No … it’s not late.” He heard the pleading in his own voice and wished it wasn’t there.

Karl shook his head. “It’s eleven-thirty I…I have a long journey home.”

Liam took a deep breath. “I’d like to be with you. We can just talk. I don’t mind the drive. I don’t sleep much most nights. Let me take you home.”

Karl grabbed his shoulders and kissed him.

The move both surprised and delighted Liam. He ran his hands around Karl’s waist and returned the kiss. The sounds of the traffic receded. The night grew soft. Liam drifted in the passion and desire that rose through him.

Karl broke the kiss and eased away. “Have dinner with me tomorrow. Meet me somewhere, anywhere you like around eight. I do want to know you, but I can’t stay tonight.”

Liam still held Karl. The feel of his hard body made Liam’s already half-erect cock fill out. He leaned to kiss Karl again and answered between brushing Karl’s sexy mouth with his own. “You choose. If you live out of the city … I can get to most places…” He stole another kiss and his eyes closed again with the intense pleasure it brought.

Karl pushed away, gently but firmly. “Let’s stick to downtown. There’s a great place at the junction of Main and Beverley as you travel up to the bar.”

Liam had difficulty speaking. “Fiorella, I know it—serves great Italian.”

Karl took Liam’s hands from his body and held them for a moment. “That’s the place. Eight o’clock, okay? We won’t need to book unless it’s a weekend.” He dropped Liam’s hands.

“Yes, sure. That’s good.”

Karl had walked a few paces away when worry forced Liam to call after him. “Hey, you’re not married or have a partner?” Just why Karl was in such a hurry to get home suddenly raised the question in his head.

Karl spun around. “No, no, nothing like that. See you tomorrow.”

Liam nodded slowly, happy with the answer, but so disappointed Karl had to go.

Karl must have sensed it. He ran back, grasped Liam’s shoulders, and kissed him hard. He pulled away, grinned, and then ran off.

White-hot fury filled the leopard. He leapt with his massive paws spread and brought down both men #midweektease #MMromance #PNR

Today I'm teasing from new release MM romance/erotic romance
BLOND

The leopard bowed his head to Liam. He softened his growl to a low burr.

Liam froze.

Two men joined him on the path, but they didn’t follow his gaze upward. One pushed Liam hard so that he staggered backward. The other let out an ugly grating laugh and followed Liam along until his face was close to Liam’s.
Karl heard the words.

“Wallet, phone, now, faggot.” The man slapped Liam around the face a couple of times.

Liam had lost his balance and fought not to fall.

The other man kicked him in the stomach. “I like his jacket. Do you like it, Chet? Take it off, pretty boy.” He directed this at Liam.

Liam had hit the ground. His eyes met Karl’s.

White-hot fury filled the leopard. He leapt with his massive paws spread and brought down both men. He left his claws unsheathed and the rip of fabric echoed in his ears as he pinned them to the sidewalk. He snarled in the face of the one who’d called Liam a faggot and received a terrified scream for it. He turned his head and placed his nose on the nose of the man in a leather jacket who’d wanted Liam’s black dinner jacket. Karl’s growl rumbled. Tears ran from the man’s eyes. His breath came in gasps and whimpers.

Karl leisurely stood away and surveyed his handiwork.

The two men shuffled backward into the street, their faces contorted with terror.
Karl looked around. Liam pressed flat against the door of the townhouse as if this hid him.

Someone opened an upstairs window and called out. “What’s going on? It’s the middle of the night. I’m calling the police.”

Karl went to Liam. He purred as he nudged Liam’s thigh with his shoulder. He cast a glance at the two men as they scrambled to their feet and ran. He stood guard at Liam’s feet until the men were out of sight.

A siren split the early morning silence—in the distance but coming closer.

Karl gave Liam a longing look and then loped away. Around the corner was the side entrance to a small apartment block. Karl took it and leapt to the roof of the carports there. He gauged the leap to the actual roof, crouched, and then took off. His claws scraped on the rain-wet tiles as he slipped, but he reached the flat surface, and cleared the decorative balustrade. Desperate to make sure Liam was okay, he spun around to take the next roof where he could look down on the sidewalk once more.

The siren had reduced to a strange whoop and the police car had halted. He’d missed the beginning of the conversation, but now Karl heard Liam’s voice shake.

“I’m okay, thank you, officer—just a bit shocked. They didn’t take anything in the end, just pushed me around. They spooked when someone shouted from the window. I guess the same person called you.”

“Where do you live, sir?”

Liam sighed. “Not here. I came to see a friend but they’re not in. I’m okay really.”

Karl gazed at Liam as he brushed at his suit pants and ran a hand through his lovely dark hair. His heart filled with tenderness. He wished he could run to Liam and hug him close.

“Yeah … we’ll give you a ride home, just to be on the safe side.”

Karl watched Liam slide into the back seat of the black and white. An officer closed the door. Karl turned away. He slunk home, used his claws to scale the tree, and leapt to his balcony. He lay on the rug in his bedroom and gazed at the moon hiding now and then behind billowing clouds. He didn’t sleep and as the moon changed places with the sun he silently shifted into his human form.

Karl wrapped a towel around his waist and ran his hands through his wet hair. He made coffee as sorrow and fatigue fought for first place. I love him and I’ll never be able to tell him what I am. Maybe I can just protect him from things like those thugs last night … yeah, I could silently take care of him… A sigh escaped him. All the same, I don’t want anything to happen just so I can rescue him. The aroma of his favorite Italian roast drifted from his cup, but that morning Karl was lost in sadness and it failed to cheer him.

The bar wasn’t crowded. Liam nodded to a couple that gave him a wave of greeting. He skirted the dance floor to talk to Milo, who was draped over the bar, head resting on his palms, surveying the four men who swayed to the sultry music. He straightened as Liam stopped walking before him.

“Liam, how’s your day been, sweet pea? Mine’s been dreadful. Jeremy’s sick and I’ve had to do a double shift.”

Liam gave Milo a sympathetic look. “Sorry to hear that. Maybe he’ll be well tomorrow.”

“He’d better be. At least I’ve got Colin coming in at ten. What’ll it be? Bourbon?”
Liam shook his head. “I’m keeping a clear head tonight. Dress an iced water with lemon and lime for me?” He gave Milo a smile laden with sex and sweetness as he put the inflection of a question in his tone.

“You’re such a tease, Liam.” Milo sighed, but poured from the Voss in the bar fridge, and then heaped slices of the green and yellow requested citrus on a scoop of crushed ice, which he slid with great ceremony into the tall glass of water.

Liam scanned the room. There were maybe twenty guys and he knew four of them. There was no sign of the blond and a strange mix of relief and disappointment crept over him as he turned to look at Milo. “Thanks.” He picked up his drink and sipped at it. I’ll hang around until ten-thirty and then call it a night. Liam tried to remember what time the man who set his heart racing arrived in the bar the previous night. It was probably around ten. Early in fact, considering the bar only revved up after eleven. Liam pulled his smartphone from his jacket pocket and checked the time. When he saw it was close to ten o’clock his heart began pounding. Fucking hell. I need to calm down. What’s wrong with me? Liam took a long drink of his water. He turned from his perusal of the room and clicked his glass onto the bar.

Suddenly, beside him, reflected in the mirror-tiled backsplash of the bar, his quarry leaned casually against the faux marble counter.

It felt to Liam as if all the air had been sucked out of the room, and replaced with extreme sexual tension. Sex vibrated from the blond. Liam took a ragged breath. He’d never experienced anything like it. He attempted to lift his glass, seeking a drink of the ice-cold water against the rising heat in his balls and the gradual hardening of his cock.

“I saw you here last night. Can I get you another?”

The low voiced words flowed over Liam.

He edged his tall frame around to face the man. As he opened his mouth to answer he drank in the sight of the hunk beside him—green eyes the color of fresh grass—startlingly handsome face and a mouth that practically begged for kissing. Liam couldn’t help dropping his gaze and soaked up the implication of the bulge in the blond’s suit pants. He raised his eyes and saw desire darken the enchanting verdant gaze.

“It’s iced water, thank you…” Liam fished for the man’s name.

“Karl and you are?” His half-smile held visible caution.

“Liam.” He’s nervous, too. A soft blanket of calmness coated Liam. His guess helped him slow his heartbeat, but his desire still raged. His cock strained against his jeans. His balls ached. Karl set him on fire just by standing beside him. His stomach clenched tight, and sparks of deep happiness raced over him unbidden and unfamiliar.

Karl ordered a beer and iced water for Liam.

Liam watched with amusement when Milo openly flirted with Karl as he poured and placed the drinks on the counter. He waited until Milo had danced off to serve at the other end of the bar before he spoke. “I saw you here last night. I had to leave early. I’m glad you’re back tonight.”

Liam lifted his arms and held the man whose hands on his ass were like firebrands.
